Pit Terrace

In Ichikawamisato, Yamanashi prefecture, we opened a part of a parking space in front of a shop and designed a public space which create encounters of local people. We designed a terrace as a reflection of the characteristic facade of the shop. By fusing this terrace, a garden and a bench, we created a place where people can stay with plants. This public space along the road will induce communication. This  new experience of public space will be a start to increase people's consciousness to the area.

山梨県市川三郷町で、店舗の駐車スペースの一部を開放し、地域の人々の出会いを誘発するパブリックスペースのデザインを行った。店舗の特徴的なファサードを反転したようなテラス、庭とベンチを組み合わせることで、植物と共に人々が滞在する場を作り出した。道沿いに現れた公共空間が人々の交流を生み出し、新しい公共空間の体験は地域への意識を高めるきっかけとなっていく。
