This is a small interior intervention in the entrance atrium of the most prominent buildings in Yagami Campus (Keio University). Our goal was to enhance informal communication in this underused space. We opted for placing colorful new furniture and controlling thermal comfort through roll-curtains. As a result of behavior observation surveys, we confirmed that not only the number of users increased after the renovation, but also that new usages appeared, such as visitors holding informal meetings, or groups of students having lunch or studying together.
