12月にスペイン大使館にてアルマザン・ホルヘ（慶應義塾大学）、ヴィセンテ・イボーラ（アリカンテ大学）、岡部明子（東京大学）、小林広英（京都大学）の4氏を交えての公開討論会を行います。
日本では、1990 年代のバブル経済崩壊や阪神・淡路大震災を契機に、多くの建築家が建築の社会的課題に意識を高め、2011 年の東日本大震災後よりその状況は加速しています。参加型デザインやコミュニティ再生など建築家の活動域は大きくなっています。スペインでも、2008 年の世界的な金融恐慌の影響で不動産バブルが崩壊して以降、同様の状況にあると言えます。本シンポジウムでは、日本とスペインで活躍する研究者、建築家を招聘し、具体的なプロジェクトを通して、現代・将来社会における建築家の社会的役割や社会再構築の方法論を議論します。

In Action - The new social role of architects in Japan and Spain

A new consciousness is emerging among Japanese and Spanish architects. The burst of the bubble economy (1991), and last major Earthquakes (Kobe 1995, Tohoku 2011) have triggered in Japan the development of collaborative practices, shared spaces, community regeneration projects and participatory design methods. A similar change has happened in Spain since the burst of the real estate bubble in 2008. We will examine how architects of two culturally distant countries are now converging into a new and shared set of design approachs, methods, and ethics
